The second Portuguese multiplier event occurred on October 16th, 2024 in Braga at the Inter-municipal Commission of Cávado. The multiplier event had two separated moments under the same umbrella: “Fire education towards resilient societies”. The first moment, in person, had as a public mainly professionals related to wildfires however also with the role of
communicating with different publics in order to increase awareness on the topic. With a total of 16 participants, these included municipality technicians, fire fighters, Republican National Guard, Army, National Civil Protection, National Emergency Medical Institute and Forest Services. The dissemination of this event was done by the coordinators Pau Costa Foundation.
This first session lasted for two hours which included the presentation of the Edufire Toolkit project, with the platform and respective pedagogical materials, together with the presentation of another fire education project with an exhibition called Fogo Frio – Using fire to prevent wildfires.
The second session was online, inserted in the 8th Mediterranean Forest Week. It included a presentation of a fire education platform from the FIRE RES European project, which have synergies with EDUFIRE TOOLKIT where it was presented. This webinar lasted for 1h30 and had 140 views.
The two moments were promoted by Conceição Colaço as a trainer. Although no satisfaction inquiry was done, the different reviews from the participants in person were very positive, having all of them shown the interest to read and use the Edufire pedagogical materials.
