On November 22, the Pau Costa Foundation organised the first Multiplier Event of the EduFire Toolkit project in Toledo. This event is organized with the purpose of disseminating the results produced by the project.
Carla Vilarasau, from the Education and Awareness Area from the Pau Costa Foundation, presented our project: its content, its structure, and the EduFire Toolkit new platform.
During the day, Carla began by explaining the needs of the project and the context in which it is framed. Then she explained the objectives, goals and general approach of the project. She also showed the platform, and explained the different modules, teaching units, challenges, guidelines for teachers, guidelines for community involvement and the interactive map.
After the presentation of the project, a public survey was conducted using the mentimeter app asking some questions about the real challenges of wildfire education.
After that, a debate was generated with the different experts in education in Spain. Sagrario Fernández, head of the Environmental Planning and Promotion Service, DG of Circular Economy and Agenda 2030 (JCCM) took part as moderator and Francisco Plaza of JCCM, Daniel Moya of UCLM, Agustín Merino from USC and Carmen Guerrero from EPRIF and MITECO-TRAGSA participated in the debate. The main challenges of education in relation to wildfires were put on the table.
The day was attended by 100 people from different organizations.
Furthemore, on November 24, Conceição Colaço, Researcher from Universidade de Lisboa, presented the projectat the 7th International Safety Education Seminar organised by FEU in Linz (Austria), within the framework of publicising the project, what is being done, and its open resources.
